SHIPPING
We offer free shipping on orders over $200 to Mexico and the United States. As soon as your order is placed, we will begin working on your creation but we need about four to six weeks from the order date to ship (more detailed shipping windows are provided on product pages, homepage and order confirmations). All orders are shipped via UPS and you will receive a tracking number as soon as it goes out. For orders less than $200, we charge a flat rate of $20 for shipping within Mexico and the U.S. Customs and duties are covered to the US for purchases under $800.
We also offer Standard shipping for a flat rate to South America, Europe and Canada. Outside of the US and Mexico, duties and taxes are not included in the total at check out. Our prices are not inclusive of any taxation or customs charges you may be liable for on your packages entry into your country. If an order arrives and you refuse to pay duties, we cannot issue a refund. We hope you understand!
RETURNS
All custom orders (anything made to your measurements) cannot be returned which is why we ask you take your measurements very, very carefully with a soft measuring tape. We also do not accept returns on monogrammed garments. We hope you understand!
We accept returns on sized, unworn garments without any traces of wear within 14 days of the date it arrived to you. Just note that we cannot cover the cost of return shipping, we hope you understand!
PAYMENTS
We accept all credit cards and Paypal.
SIZING
We use standard American sizing to make purchasing from us easier. Many of our fits (anything described as "relaxed, straight") are unstructured throughout the body to make it easier to accommodate different body types. We understand the inherent challenges involved in standardized sizing and realize it is not a perfect science. But we do our best to create designs that are both inclusive yet feel tailored and special.
There is a science, however, to taking your measurements. Please make sure you visit this section on our site if you are providing your own measurements and please use a soft measuring tape when taking them. If you have any questions at all, we are happy to help and can take calls, video chats or emails to address any concerns when choosing your size. LIMITED RUNS
We use mostly extra yardage fabrics in our creations (sometimes referred to as deadstock, which is a far more sustainable way of creating clothing). It does mean, however, that when we run out of fabric, we run out. There is something special about such a limited run of garments, but we also realize this can be frustrating! We re-release styles regularly in new fabrics as well. Our mission is of course to not add to the excessive waste of the retail industry! We believe this is how we all should shop: Finding special clothes that are designed to last, made just for you, with materials that need a home whenever possible.
PRICING
We do everything possible to offer you the most fair pricing we can: We want Chava to be accessible to as many people as possible while continuing to offer the highest quality fabrics made with the upmost care and attention. We believe a handmade garment is a special and considered purchase—and it's one that takes quite a bit of time to make. Many of our shirts take upwards of a single day to produce. We hope you feel your Chava purchase is worth every penny.
OUR STUDIO
We are based in a 30-year-old family run studio in the heart of Mexico City. This studio is one of Mexico's premier suppliers of luxury fabrics which means we have access to some of the most beautiful fabrics in the world. We are happy to book appointments for anyone who would like to visit us! You may come by to try our samples or place a custom order where we can take your measurements. CARE / CLEANING
Most garments we make can be hand or machine washed (dry cleaning is not a sustainable option and there is no need!). Please wash on a cold or gentle cycle and hang to dry. You may iron once dry if you wish.
FOR CHAVXS
Our standardized sizing is based on traditional women's sizing, but you should feel free to provide your measurements if there is a style you would like made for you.
