SHIPPING

We offer free shipping on orders over $200 to Mexico and the United States. As soon as your order is placed, we will begin working on your creation but we need about four to six weeks from the order date to ship (more detailed shipping windows are provided on product pages, homepage and order confirmations). For orders less than $200, we charge a flat rate of $20 for shipping within Mexico and the U.S.  Our prices are not inclusive of any taxation or customs charges you may be liable for on your packages entry into your country. If an order arrives and you refuse to pay duties, we cannot issue a refund. We hope you understand!

You will receive a confirmation email with your shipping window and a direct link to the “CHAVA Order Status” document where you can see what stage your order is in. If you did not receive this email please contact us at orderstatus@chavastudio.com  

If you are going on vacation or won't be home to receive your package we can hold it for you.  Please email us at elisa@chavastudio.com  and olivia@chavastudio.com  to make sure your package doesn't get sent.     

We use UPS and DHL for our shipments. They usually take 2 to 3 business days to arrive. If you are having any problem with your shipment please contact elisa@chavastudio.com 

    RETURNS

    All custom orders (anything made to your measurements) cannot be returned which is why we ask you take your measurements very, very carefully with a soft measuring tape. We also do not accept returns on monogrammed garments. We hope you understand!

    We accept returns if your purchase falls within the following conditions:

    1. It arrived to you within the last 14 days.
    2. There is no visible sign of wear.
    3. It is not made to measure, monogrammed or an item crafted in a custom fabric or with custom elements.

    To initiate your return follow these steps:

    1. Please email us elisa@chavastudio.com and olivia@chavastudio.com so we can process your refund and send you a ship-to address.
    2. Unfortunately we do not cover return shipping costs, we hope you understand! We do however provide you with a New York state address and you can ship via USPS.

    We accept exchanges if your purchase falls within the following conditions:

    1. It arrived to you within the last 14 days.
    2. There is no visible sign of wear.
    3. It is not made to measure, monogrammed or an item crafted in a custom fabric or with custom elements.

    We accept all credit cards and Paypal. 

    SIZING

    We cut our shirts in standard US sizing, currently 0 - 10 in slim cut models and S/M, L/XL in oversized ones. Our oversized shirts are cut very oversized, please read the product description carefully. To see where your measurements put you in CHAVA, please refer to our size guide here.  Our size small shirts fit true to size on sizes 0 - 4, our size medium fit true to size on sizes 6 - 8 and our size larges fit true to size on sizes 10 - 12. Our S/M shirts fit true to size on sizes 0 - 6 and our L/XL fit true to size on sizes 8 - 12.

    TRUNK SHOWS

    We love trunk shows and have quite a few planned. Please subscribe to our newsletter here to be the first to know. Subscribers get appointment priority.

    LIMITED RUNS

    We use mostly extra yardage fabrics in our creations (sometimes referred to as deadstock, which is a far more sustainable way of creating clothing). It does mean, however, that when we run out of fabric, we run out. There is something special about such a limited run of garments, but we also realize this can be frustrating! We re-release styles regularly in new fabrics as well. Our mission is of course to not add to the excessive waste of the retail industry! We believe this is how we all should shop: Finding special clothes that are designed to last, made just for you, with materials that need a home whenever possible.

    There are often instances where we undersell a fabric and have enough to cut a few more (or we have a return or cancelled order that pops up). If there’s any item that you wanted and it's no longer available please email elisa@chavastudio.com  to see what we can do.

    PRICING

    We do everything possible to offer you the most fair pricing we can: We want CHAVA to be accessible to as many people as possible while continuing to offer the highest quality fabrics made with the utmost care and attention. We believe a handmade garment is a special and considered purchase—and it's one that takes quite a bit of time to make. Many of our shirts take upwards of a single day to produce. We hope you feel your CHAVA purchase is worth every penny.

    MONOGRAMS

    You can monogram your shirt in the collarband, cuffs, interior cuffs and waist. We offer monograms in red, navy, black, white, brown and beige. If you do not specify a color, we will make a decision for you (often something tonal that speaks to a color or element of the shirt). 

    If a shirt has already been made the only available option for monogramming is at the waist. If the shirt hasn't been made yet, you can! Please email us — elisa@chavastudio.com  and olivia@chavastudio.com  — as soon as possible to make sure we can monogram it.

    CARE/CLEANING

    CHAVA’s items are designed to be easily cared for. Here is a breakdown by item and materials: 

    • Shirts and dresses - cotton, linen, cashmere and silk blends
    1. Hand or machine wash cold 
    2. Hang dry
    3. Warm iron
    • Knit cotton sweaters - 
    1. Hand or machine wash cold
    2. Lay down on a flat surface to dry
    3. We don't recommend taking your sweater dry cleaning as there can be some shrinking. 
    • 100% silk - dry clean only!
    • All suiting pieces - dry clean only!

    CHAVA TIP: Depending on use, we do suggest taking your shirts to the dry cleaners at least 2 to 3 times a year. This’ll help get the collar back to its original shape.

    TIENDITA

    The Tiendita is right next to Casa Ortega and Museo Barragan.  Our address is General Francisco Ramírez 24, Ampliación Daniel Garza, Miguel Hidalgo, 11840 CDMX. We are open Tuesday - Saturday from 11 am to 6pm.

    It is open to the public and you can walk in at any of the times listed above. The Tiendita has one of a kind pieces, styles available for purchase off the rack and store exclusives!

    TIENDITA RETURN POLICY 

    1. Requests for refunds must be made the day of purchase (we are so sorry and understand this is difficult but unfortunately this is the only way to spare you from a lengthy and painful process with our bank).
    2. We can exchange any purchase within 30 days of purchase date for a different shirt or store credit. 
    3. We do not accept returns or exchanges on monogrammed or custom orders.
